Oregon Map Starting Point: Post

From Post drive east 9 miles (milepost 34.8) to a major BLM road, number 6578. Ignore signs designed to discourage your travel on this very public road. Stay on 6578 for approximately 17.5 miles until you reach a four-wheel-drive track 0.2 mile northeast of Cabin Spring on the south side of Cabin Butte. Park.

Walk the jeep trail 1.6 miles down to the North Fork Crooked River. At the bottom is a small island. Explore upstream and/or downstream.

Return the same way.
